No. You can search customs codes by description or by code, and codes stored on your Shopify products are loaded automatically.

What if an order ships outside the EU with another courier?

Customs declarations are available only for Packeta partner carriers and DHL Express. Other couriers send no customs data, so use one of these two for destinations outside the EU.

What it does

The first parcel to the United Kingdom or Switzerland is where shipping usually breaks. Shipdock prefills the customs declaration from the order, so what you fill in is the part only you know: the commodity code and the export reason.

Defaults are saved per courier and per destination country, so the next parcel takes far less time.

What you get

Line items from the order

Product name, HS code, quantity, weight, price and country of origin prefilled from the order, editable before the label is created.

HS code lookup

Search customs codes by code or by description, such as t-shirt, instead of digging through tariff tables. The form validates the code length each courier needs.

Invoice from the courier or your own

DHL Express can generate the commercial invoice from the declaration, or you upload your own PDF. For Packeta you upload your own invoice as a PDF, which is required.

Your identifiers in place

EORI, VAT and other registration numbers are stored once, and only the numbers relevant for the route are sent. This applies to DHL Express. Packeta declarations have no EORI or VAT fields.

Defaults per destination

Invoice number source, export reason and delivery cost remembered per courier and destination country.

Documents kept with the shipment

Invoices and export documents are stored with the shipment and can be downloaded later.

Questions merchants ask

Packeta partner carriers to Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Israel, Ukraine, the United States, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey, and DHL Express to the United Kingdom, Switzerland and the United States. Cash on delivery is not available on these routes.
